The communication and field bus networks are the best way to transfer data between devices, offering an automatic flow, and real time exchange of all the information concerning the manufacturing and management processes across all levels of the enterprise.
The communication networks between PLCs and other equipment, and with control and supervision computers integrated in the Intranet or the company corporate network, are key elements for the manufacturing process' data acquisition, which later on will enable its analysis and statistical treatment.
Field bus networks enable the use of remote (or distributed) inputs / outputs, drives control hardware, a flow of process data acquisition...; all complementing the PLC controlled applications to create a fully automatic, efficient, high performance production control and management system.
